Thanksgiving

me

So we moved into our new place Tuesday...and wednesday until 2am, and Thursday morning before Thanksgiving dinner around 2.  ;)

Thanksgiving
For thanksgiving dinner, we ordered a smoked turkey from Memphis, it was great, very flavorful.  It was still turkey, which I don't care for as a rule, but combined with all the fixings the girls made, I was pretty happy with the food.  A lot less work, which was nice considering we were moving/clearning before and after.

Afterward we played scene it and rock band 1 with Syb, and it was such a blast that Anna got me Rock Band 2 as an early christmas present.  So you'll have to come over again Syb, the new game is awesome!

Anna did much better at Scene it Box Office edition than the first Scene It, she still doesn't know many actor names, movie references, etc, shes at least willing to play this one, since its mostly newer movies. Syb was a tough opponent,  I won on thanksgiving but it was a close thing, easily could have gone the other way.

Moving Status

Technically, since our garage is still filled with junk, we haven't finished moving in yet, but its ok, the apartment itself is looking great.

I'm "very" happy with the apartment, 3 bedrooms, 2 car garage, with storage all over the place.  I thought the rooms were the same size as the rooms at the other apartment, but they're actually bigger, and it definitely feels like it.  I haven't been able to hear my neighbors, hopefully they haven't been able to hear me too much either.

The kitchen is a bit smaller than I'd like, but I'm going to get a plastic cabinet thing and store all the junk that we barely use, then try to keep all the cupboards in the kitchen reserved only for things we use on a regular basis.  Hopefully we can keep the apartment feeling light and comfortable the way it is now that way.

Plastic tubs were on sale at target when we were moving, so I bought a bunch more.  We used very few cardboard boxes in the move, nearly all plastic tubs, and we use them all over the house, for storage, for putting stuff on, and will use them in the future as well.  These are dense rubbermaid tubs, not those brittle cheap plastics that crack, and over the past year I've been using them more and more.

Website Stuff
All week I've been programming a 4th edition online sheet to add to the character vault on dndorks.com.  I was a bit surprised when people started asking me when I was going to get the 4th edition out.  It was a bit satisfying knowing that people use the vault, since it was so much work.  The 4th edition sheet is nearly done, hopefully its cool enough for people to use.  I'm trying to make it so its somewhat printable, but html printing is kinda crappy, maybe I'll make a crystal report out of it to print to pdf.

The Rest
When I'm not unpacking or programming, I'm usually helping Anna study for her stats exam, but when I'm not doing that, I'm usually playing either Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Got a few more achievement points, I'm at the point where only fairly difficult ones are left, like throwing 200 enemies off the side or whatnot, defeating a map without fighting anyone, etc), Scene-it box office smash, or Rock Band 2.

D&D
I'm starting a new 4th ed campaign on Saturday, set in the Forgotten Realms.  I'm really looking forward to it.  I'm printing power cards for everyone, I have everyone's sheet stored in my god account over on Emma's Character Sheets Its an awesome service, fantastic character sheets and all of the information.  I suppose I should give the Wizard's program a try, since I'm a subscriber and beta testing it.  I just didn't even think about it until this very second. ;)  The game should be fun.
