Successful Video Game Trial

This is by far the best computer upgrade I've ever done.  Last night I played some Fallout 3 on my new system. Even with my lowly 9800 GT video card with all the settings turned up, it  ran flawlessly.

The i7 is amazing.  Snappy, fast.  I don't have any lag, everything just works instantly.  If I do something on one of my 3 hard drives, other actions involving that hard drive might slow for other actions, but I just consciously switch to using a different hard drive and there is absolutely no effect from the other hard drive being in use.

In Vista, the performance rating is 5.9 across the board, which is the current highest it can go.

I was a little worried about the 64 bit compatibility, but so far it hasn't been a problem.  Last year when I tried to go 64 bit there were a lot of problems, now the programs that "were" a problem before usually have a 64 bit version to work with, other things I can tell it to use compatibility mode with windows xp and they have worked fine so far.

I'm very happy. :)

Tonight I plan to explode some heads in Left 4 Dead. :)

I didn't realize 5.9 was the highest. My system is base 5.7. ONly the processor comes in at 5.7, everything else is 5.9. That is amazing that the processor does such a great job making up for the graphics card (6 GB of RAM helps too).

I've had very few 54bit issues with my setup. Every once in a while I'll find an app it doesn't like. Efax messenger for instances refuses to install on a 4 bit system.
