me

So I just finished Forever Fifteen.  http://foreverfifteen.com/

Absolutely fantastic.  Its amazing to me how many different ways the vampire story can be told and still echo meaning.

Last week I finished Billibub Baddings and the Case of the Singing Sword.  Also great.  I had bought the print book and planned to read it when I found the podcast version on podiobooks.com, I love audio versions of books so it was pretty much a given that I'd listen to that version.  I normally donate to books I listen all the way through on podiobooks.com, but I bought the print novel so I can't really justify it, maybe I'll just put 5 bucks towards it as a compromise.

Jason (the artist from dndorks.com) and I talked the week before last for about an hour and a half about various aspects of roleplaying, mostly related to 4e D&D, but also other games.  It was pretty good stuff and I wished I had been setup to record it (we were talking over skype), once I get everything configured, I may start recording it (we h ave a regular weekly wednesday thing where we skype, catch up, and talk about roleplaying games, the comic, etc).

Jason is pretty hardcore in terms of pursuing learning and acquiring new rules, lots of independent games.  He wants the game to be very much like a game for all involved, including the GM.  He wants to distribute the telling of the story to the players and mostly help coordinate the game as GM, and likes games that do that.

I of course am more old school in the sense that I believe the DM is like a director, the players actors, the players control what their characters do within the canvas the DM has painted.

Because of our difference of opinions I think a podcast would be good because we tend to go back and forth on a lot of subjects, bringing up a lot of good points and usually continue until we find a common ground.  We don't tend to convince each other of anything, but we find a way to understand the other's views, even if we don't share them.
